Centres of excellence for outpatients
The two trauma treatment centres (UBS) were established in the 1950s and originally provided only outpatient care and the rehabilitation of insured members after work or commuting accidents and occupational diseases.
The requirement situation has since changed significantly. The basic medical care is well catered for through a nationwide network of doctors, primarily accident insurance consultants, who are approved by the professional associations to provide care to their insured members.
