As is customary for the public hospital sector, the BG clinics also operate a dual system of funding. Since the BG clinics (except the ukb in Berlin) do not access public funds, the investment costs are at least partially paid by the "Gemeinschaft der gewerblichen Berufsgenossenschaften" (institutions for statutory accident insurance) via its community fund. Funding of the day-to-day operation in BG clinics differs from other hospitals.

Certified transparency
With the "Cooperation for transparency and quality in health care" certification procedure, the hospitals have an instrument available with which they can present the quality of their services more transparently. Several BG clinics have undergone this certification procedure. Above all, the high patient orientation, the interdisciplinary cooperation in dealing with patients and the operation of complex hospital information systems were emphasised by the certifiers.
