Treatment for every patient
The rescue helicopter Christoph 2 and the emergency physician rapid response car 11/82 are located on-site for that purpose. A further heliport is available to ensure optimum readiness in any emergency situation. The clinic covers the entire spectrum of trauma surgery, posttraumatic restorative surgery and areas of focus related to orthopaedics. Fractures, with or without additional joint injuries, are treated here and serious pelvic and spinal injuries are reconstructed. Special disciplines are artificial joint replacement, foot surgery and sports orthopaedics. The most severe of injuries to the hand, limbs and body surface can also be treated if hand surgery, microsurgical and plastic surgery techniques are necessary. The Specialist Unit for Hand Surgery and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery works to accomplish this. In addition, the functions of the limbs are trained in the scope of special therapeutic aftercare for the hand. People from far outside the region come to the treatment centre for neurosurgery and neurotraumatology, where they are helped, for example, with spinal surgery. The clinic also maintains a department for spinal cord injuries. The Department of Septic Surgery is unique in the Frankfurt Rhine Main Region. Throughout the whole of Germany there are very few comparable specialised departments. State-of-the-art anaesthesia, intensive care and pain therapy is offered. The Trauma Clinic has established an independent "BG Consulting Hours" department for patients treated under the professional association. Here, they receive highly competent advice on professional association therapeutic methods. Beyond the direct patient care, the clinic invests in the future with its expertise.
